MOTHER´S TONGUE

DIR. D. WILMOS PAUL

COSTUME DESIGN: DAVID MÉNDEZ MATEU

Junior, an 18-year-old African American immigrant from Ivory Coast, enrolls in a poetry writing class. Speaking in public terrifies him, particularly due to his African accent. With his mother's support, he will surpass his fears and discovers his path as an artist, embracing his accent as a unique aspect of his identity. Overcoming his insecurities, Junior finds liberation in self-expression and his poetry resonates with others, allowing him to flourish as a poet.
